A Massachusetts drug dealer will spend 14 years in federal prison for his role in a heroin distribution ring here in Vermont.
31-year-old Chandara Sam -- was arrested in White River Junction last April. Prosecutors say he was involved in a larger drug ring pushing a dangerous strain of heroin -- known as Chi or Chi-town -- linked to several overdoses.
Investigators say he and two other men had been working together to traffic heroin between Chicago and Burlington -- selling it out of the Handy Suites in Essex.
Police say Sam has a history of violence and a lengthy criminal history. They found a gun and 47,000 dollars in cash when they raided his home.
