ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - The driver of an all-terrain vehicle that crashed in Vermont in 2012, leaving himself and a passenger seriously injured, has been sentenced to at least 18 months in prison.
Dylan Cady, 23, of Barnet, reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in Caledonia Superior Court on Monday to settle multiple charges.
The Caledonian Record reports police said an intoxicated Cady was so concerned about getting caught with drugs he was carrying that he begged witnesses who came upon the crash on May 12, 2012, to not call 911. His passenger was lying in the middle of the road, losing blood and suffering from a compound fracture to her leg.
Cady pleaded no contest to five charges. He was convicted of two counts of drunken driving and other charges.
