Mount Snow is jumping on the EB-5 bandwagon, tapping the visa program for investments in new developments at the southern Vermont ski resort.
Mount Snow officials announced plans Friday for $52 million in improvements, including a new storage pond for snowmaking and a new base lodge.
Mount Snow has been approved to finance the project through the federal EB-5 program. That allows the resort to seek investments from foreign nationals in exchange for green cards.
The owners of Jay Peak have already brought it tens of millions of dollars from EB-5 investors and are seeking a half billion more to finance a list of projects in the Northeast Kingdom.
