Saving pets from fires before they happen

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -

The Vermont Veterinary Medical Association reports more than 500,000 pets die in house fires each year. The group recommends pet owners safeguard their homes to protect their animals before a fire starts.

Dr. Liam Bisson from the Shelburne Veterinary Hospital provided some tips on keeping homes and animals safe.
