MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The town clerk in the northern Vermont town of Lowell says the select board is going to be setting a date for a special town meeting to gauge the support for wind energy.
On Friday, the Vermont Supreme Court ruled the town improperly refused to reconsider an article that was placed on the 2012 Town Meeting Day ballot. It was tabled before it could be considered.
Town Clerk Karen Clinger says the select board is going to be meeting Tuesday to decide when to hold the meeting.
Lowell is home to Green Mountain Power's Kingdom Community Wind project, which is now generating power.
In 2010, the community voted in favor of the project.
