Former office manager facing three years for wire fraud

CONCORD, N.H. -

A former office manager who steadily stole more than half-a-million dollars from her employer has learned her fate.

Bonnie Johnson, 45, was convicted on one count of wire fraud for stealing at least $600,000 from North Country Smokehouse in Claremont, N.H.

Her former boss says for years Johnson wrote herself company checks, used the company credit card and tried to fix the North Country Smokehouse's books to cover her tracks.

A judge sentenced Johnson Tuesday to three years in prison and ordered she repay the money.

The Valley News reports Johnson spent the money on luxury cars, jewelry and vacations.
