ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. -

A man accused of trying to kill a Connecticut police officer before fleeing to Vermont was arraigned Thursday.

Vermont State Police say they found Jaheem Snype, 19, of New Britain, Conn., hiding out at a Barton apartment Wednesday.

Investigators say on Sunday Snype ran over and dragged a Connecticut cop who stopped to question him about the stolen vehicle he was driving. Police say that's when Snype and his half-brother Frankie Gonzalez fled to the Northeast Kingdom, where they have family in Stannard.

The men were arraigned on fugitive charges in Vermont and are awaiting extradition to Connecticut, where Snype faces multiple charges, including criminal attempt to commit the murder of a police officer.
