WINOOSKI, Vt. -

A vehicle stop took a dramatic turn in Winooski Friday night and it was all caught on camera.

Winooski police were assisting a state police investigation when they pulled over a red Ford truck.

Moments later with the driver out of the vehicle police say the passenger jumped behind the wheel and took off down Main Street into the Winooski Rotary.

The suspect crashed into one car and fled on foot.

Officers then ran after the man and eventually caught him in the parking lot of the Winooski Mill Apartments where they had to use a taser to take him into custody.

"It went up the sidewalk and it almost hit our building, I lost track of it but right behind him there were three or four police cars and there were more coming," said witness Demetrios Michaelides.

Winooski police have identified the suspect as 38-year-old Tyshawn Mack of Boston. Authorities say he is wanted by the New York Police Department for burglary.
