Firefighters in Burlington braved cold temperatures Saturday morning to battle a house fire.
Fire fighters responded to the home on Howard Street a little after 7 o'clock. They say smoke was already coming from second story windows. The family was alerted by a smoke alarm, ran outside, and called 911.
Fire fighters say kids playing with matches started the fire. It was contained to the second floor and no one was injured. Fire officials are crediting the homeowners with saving the rest of the home from damage by closing a bedroom door to prevent smoke and fire from spreading.
The Red Cross says it's going to see if the residents need any help.
