We have some ideas for what you can do on Sunday, January 26, 2014.


The second annual Waterbury Winterfest wraps up today and there are lots of events for the whole family! There's a fun run with dogs called the mutt strutt at 9:30 a.m. with family broomball and a back country ski outing planned too and closing ceremonies starting at 4 p.m. at the rec center.


The Manchester VFW Post 64-71 is inviting all comrades and area veterans and one guest to a Veteran's Appreciation Brunch in Manchester Center from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Marine Colonel Allan Faxon wil talk about the Soldiers Home in Bennington.


The River Artisans Cooperative in Saxtons River will hold a series of Sunday afternoon workshops from 2-4 p.m. With two experienced Etsy marketers. Joan Lester and Debbi Wetzel will share their knowledge of how to sell on Etsy, you should pre-register for this.


And on Church Street in Burlington, The Vermont Children's Trust Foundation is hosting a race that everyone can run: the 1/9th Miler, as a fundraising event for the Foundation. Opening ceremony is at 2 p.m.


Jan. 26, Chittenden -- Mountain Top Resort is hosting the annual Paintball Biathlon, featuring the children's BKL race. The competition combines cross-country skiing and shooting at targets. There's a bridal expo on Sunday from 12-3 p.m. at the Dudley Davis Center on the UVM campus. There will be free samples, giveaways, ideas, and information from more than 50 wedding professionals. Admission is $5 and goes towards Women Helping Battered Women.
