Rice Memorial High School's Hailee Barron scored her 1000th career point, but it wasn't enough as the Green Knights fell to defending D-1 State Champs CVU, 59-49 Saturday. Barron, who finished with a team 15 points, reached the milestone in the third quarter on a 3-point shot.
Rice had a two point lead with under four minutes to play, but CVU rallied to take the lead for good. Emily Kinneston led the Redhawks with 22 points and teammate Kaelyn Kohlash scored seven of her nine points in the final 2 minutes of the game. The victory is the 35th straight for CVU.
