Curling was just one of the winter-themed events in front of the Lake Morey Resort for the first annual ice sports university. The event was put on by the resort to get guests excited about the upcoming winter games. Ice Fishing, pond hockey, and nordic skating were also on the list of activities. About 60 people took part. @
"It's about encouraging the community to get outside and have fun. This lake, coming out here and skating doesn't cost you anything. And, we want people to get out with their families and have fun and enjoy the winter," said Lisa Avery of the Lake Morey Resort.
There was a 25 dollar cost for the classes with the Woodstock Curling Club. The resort is also gearing up for a huge pond hockey tournament in a few weeks.
