ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - There are plans for a new slaughterhouse and retail butcher store in St. Johnsbury, Vt.
Northeast Kingdom Processing applied for a permit to build a 12,000 square-foot facility on a 1.5-acre lot in the St. Johnsbury-Lyndonville Industrial park.
The Caledonian Record reports the new building is on a lot adjacent to the site of Fred's Propane, owned by Fred Oeschger. He also owns the lot where the new slaughterhouse is being built, and applied for a permit that was issued last year.
