Close enough turns out to be just enough for the new owners of the Vermont Marble Museum.
The Vermont Preservation Trust needed to raise $400,000 to take ownership of the building, but was $70,000 short of its fundraising goal. The Times Argus reports the former owners of the museum are loaning them the extra money to transfer the property, the exhibits and most of the artifacts.
Eventually the property will be transferred over to the Vermont Marble Museum nonprofit which Robert Young will head. He is the former president of CVPS.
