Sen. Patrick Leahy weighed in on minimum wage and Vermont's opiate problem Friday.
Leahy says he will fight for a $10 minimum wage at the federal level, but wouldn't offer an opinion as to what Vermont's rate should be.
In conjunction with holding hearings on opiate abuse, the country's most-senior senator says he plans to invite the head of the FBI to the Green Mountain State.
"He's told me he will. I wouldn't be surprised if the attorney general comes back. I think what they do is they take a look at a small state like Vermont... a rural state. Think of it kind of like an idyllic place. But if we have these problems here, if we have these problems, what can we learn from them?" said Leahy, D-Vermont.
