A Vermonter who missed his shot at the Olympics four years ago is helping Team USA get ready for this year's winter games.

Kevin Pearce posted Instagram pictures Tuesday showing him running with the U.S. Olympic torch in Russia.

The 26-year-old from Hartland, Vt., was a favorite for a medal heading into the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. But less than two months before the games he crashed in training, suffering a traumatic brain injury that ended his career.
