Vt. car dealer sentenced for fraud

Posted: Updated:

A Vermont used car dealer is going to prison for defrauding customers.

Federal prosecutors say Douglas Jordan, 40, of Wolcott, bought high-mileage used cars at auction and would disable warning lights to hide problems with engines, brakes and airbags. Then he'd resell the car at his business, Auto Credit Solutions.

Jordan pleaded guilty to a single count of fraud. He was sentenced to eight months in prison.
