BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Police say a man charged with stealing a historic document from the Burlington library was involved in transferring dozens of other documents in recent years.

Patrick Rooney, 55, pleaded not guilty in January on charges he tried to sell a 223-year-old document stolen from the city to the University of Vermont's library.

Now, police have cited Rooney for an additional document theft, and they've also uncovered records of Rooney's involvement in transferring close to 200 other documents. Police have compiled a list of the documents and are asking historical societies and libraries to take a look to see if any of the items belong to them. Click here for the list.
