Vermont Health Connect is reporting
what it calls "privacy incidents" to the federal government and
The online health exchange has been
working to fix problems with the website, and has reported Health Connect users
accidentally being able to see another client's personal information before.
Now, Commissioner Mark Larson is
making regular reports to state lawmakers detailing any incident involving a
user's private information. He says during the prime sign up period between
Dec. 20 and Jan. 24, two users had private info accidentally exposed to another
user seven times. Larson says the incidents were due to human error-- like an
envelope stuffed with the wrong person's form-- not technical glitches or a
security breach from outside the system.
