BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Veterans Home is on board with a solar project that would involve its land.
The board of trustees has voted to continue pursuing a contract with a company that would install over 80 solar panels on land it owns north of the home in Bennington.
The home could get up to a 10 percent reduction in its annual electric bill. The solar panels also would power the nearby Bennington State Office Complex.
The Bennington Banner reports Cornerstone Renewables of Williston says the array would generate 750,000 kilowatt hours over the course of a year.
