The storm did not stop the Valentine's Day phantom from striking in Montpelier.
Every year, some mysterious cupid plasters downtown storefronts with hearts. Even with the blowing snow, the phantom managed to do his or her annual deed.
"It's a tradition now and people just love it. I mean there's really nothing else you can say. I'm not a loving type of guy and all this and that, but it is Valentine's Day, and what better way to show it. And the city looks great and it just gives people a great warm feeling, especially when it's 20 below," said Pinky Clark, who loves the phantom's work.
Now, a lot of people think Pinky is the phantom. But he swears it's not him. And while he's still around, he says the mystery will remain.
