Many charities are still struggling to recover from the recession. And that includes the United Way in the North Country.
But this week good news as the organization announced it has reached its $725,000 goal. The donations will now fund 40 non-profit agencies in Clinton, Essex and Franklin Counties, helping people with basic needs like food, clothing, and housing.
The United Way's executive director says after the recession, charities have had to compete for donations. And he says job cuts have also reduced the number of employees who donate to the United Way.
