OSWEGO, N.Y. (AP) - A 56-year-old man has been sentenced to up to 15 years in state prison for strangling his wife inside their central New York home last summer.
Local media report that Robert Moshier of the town of Oswego was sentenced Wednesday in Oswego County Court, where he had pleaded guilty to manslaughter and assault in the death of his 43-year-old wife Theresa, the mother of three children.
Moshier admitted he recklessly caused her death by placing his arm around her throat to restrain her while they argued in the bedroom of their home last Aug. 14. Sheriff's deputies who went to the home for a report of a domestic dispute found her body.
Moshier maintained he didn't intend to kill his wife. He was initially charged with second-degree murder.
