If you've got a case of cabin fever, we've got a few ideas to break that fever.

FIRE DEPARTMENT DINNER

There's a Turkey and Biscuit dinner put on by the Ascutney Volunteer Fire Department 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Martin Memorial Hall located on Route 5 in Ascutney, VT. It's $10 for adults, $5 for children 5-10, and under 5 is free.

SPEEDSKATING TOURNAMENT

Some really cool races are happening on a 700 meter oval skating track on Lake Memphremagog in downtown Newport, VT. The 1K and 5K are Saturday morning starting at 10:30 and are open to kids and others who want to try out skating in a race format. It's $5 for a child and $10 for an adult.

SNOW DAYS

The Second Annual Snow Days at Bolton Valley Nordic Center is happening from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This free event gives Vermonters the opportunity to try cross country skiing and snowshoeing, in an effort to encourage physical activity. There are free rentals and access to trails. There will also be a bonfire and healthy snacks.

SNOW SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT

Freezing Fun For Families Winter Co-Ed Softball tournament is happening Saturday. The Worlds Largest Snow Softball Tournament and fundraiser is in its 19th year. it's happening Feb.28 - March 2 at the Barre Town Rec. fields. This year the beneficiary is "almost" 2 year old Brantley Brooks of Essex, Vt., who has been in and out of the hospital with HLH -- the first recorded case in Vermont. For more information, visit: http://www.freezingfunforfamilies.com/

MARDI GRAS PARADE

The Magic Hat Mardi Gras rolls into Burlington for its 19th year of celebrating the season! Music, costumes, a parade, beads and beer are all part of this New England-style Mardi Gras celebration, which is geared for all ages. Don't miss the Grand Parade down Main Street. Proceeds from the event benefit HOPE Works.

POLICE OPEN HOUSE

Bristol PD will be having an open house on Saturday March 1st from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at its new facility at 72 Munsill Ave in Bristol. A ribbon-cutting will take place at 10:00 followed by a group photo of BPD officers and staff. Tours of the new facility will continue till 2:00 pm and cookies and cider will be available. There will be some displays and grab bags for children.
