A Top Seed Sweep In Girls H.S. Hoops

Number one seeds ruled the day at the Vermont girls high school basketball state championships Saturday.

In the Division one final at Patrick Gym, CVU edges Rice 35-34.  The Redhawks completing a second straight undeated season.

In D-2, Mount Abraham, another one seed, claims a second straight state crown with a 43-30 win over number two Fair Haven.

In Division Three, top seed Thetford and second seed Williamstown combine for the highest scoring Vermont championship with 174 points. The Panthers rallying to win a thriller, 90-84.

In Division IV, top seed Proctor picks up their third straight championship with a 40-31 win over Mount St. Joseph.
