Not even the cold breath of Mother Nature could stop the nation's top Nordic skiers at the 2014 USSA Junior Championship at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe. For the first time, the event touched down in Vermont, giving several local athletes a chance to race in front of the hometown fans. With the Olympics just wrapping up former junior national standouts, Sophie Caldwell and Hannah Dressigacker were the talk of the event as several young fans hope to one day ski in their tracks.
Of course bragging rights were on the line too. Ten regions are taking part in this event including New England and Alaska. New England has won four out of the last five, but last year it was won by the Last Frontier. With just one day in the books, the race is certainly on in Stowe.
