Vt. voters weigh in on school budgets

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

School budgets were on the line in communities across Vermont this Town Meeting Day. And some big school budgets did not pass.

In some towns, a modest increase in the school budget could lead to a double-digit hike in property taxes. And that's why many voters said they would not support their local school budgets.

The polls have closed and towns are busy tallying up the votes, but here are some of the unofficial numbers we have on school budgets as of 11 p.m.
