PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office says a mother-daughter team smuggled drugs into a prison.

Victoria Curry, 53, was arrested for bringing morphine pills to her daughter serving time at Clinton County Correctional Facility. Police say Curry had her infant grandson with her when she allegedly brought the drugs to Kimberly Laroe, 30.

Sheriffs say when corrections officers discovered what was happening, Laroe swallowed the pills to prevent the drugs from being used as evidence against her.

Laroe will head to court for two felony charges of promoting prison contraband and tampering with physical evidence. She will also answer for two misdemeanor charges of conspiracy in the fifth degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

Her mother was arrested and processed. Curry is due in court for a felony charge of promoting prison contraband and misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child.
