DURHAM, N.H. (AP) - University of New Hampshire officials say they fired the college's director of basketball operations due to allegations he secretly took pictures of male athletes in a locker room.
Officials identified the former staffer as 50-year-old Scott Weitzell of Newmarket.
Foster's Daily Democrat reports Weitzell is accused of taking the pictures during a game at the University of Vermont Jan. 20.
Weitzell was arrested by Newmarket police Feb. 21 and charged with resisting arrest and falsifying evidence after he tried to destroy the cellphone he used to take the pictures.
A part-time employee, Weitzell was placed on administrative leave and then fired as the investigation by UNH officials continued.
Weitzell did not immediately return a call seeking comment. It is not known whether he has a lawyer.
