Rochester standout senior Pavin Parrish capped an amazing career by setting a new Vermont high school career scoring record Wednesday night at the Barre Aud.
Parrish scored 45 points, the last two coming in the final minute of the Rockets Division Four state semifinal against Danville, to Henry Dalrymple's state mark of 2,477 points. Parrish's last two points gave him 2,479 for his outstanding career, eclipsing the mark set by St. Johnsbury's Dalrymple in 1983.
Unfortunatley for Parrish, the record setting moment came in a losing effort. Brett Elliot scored 27 oints, Kyle Johnson added 23 to lead Danville past Rochester 67-60. The Indians returning to the D-4 final for the third time in the last four years.
In the nightcap, Lyndon topped Woodstock 61-43 to reach the first boys basketball state title game in school history.
Jay Cobb led Lyndon with 20 points. Connor Fegard had a game high 17 for Woodstock.
