No buses for Burlington students if CCTA drivers strike

Posted: Updated:
BURLINGTON, Vt. -

If commuter buses are halted by striking drivers next week, Burlington school kids will have to find another way to get to school.

Burlington does not have a fleet of school buses, but rather contracts with the Chittenden County Transportation Authority (CCTA), which operates 10 special bus routes available only to school kids.

The school board voted Thursday night not to bring in alternative transportation to replace those buses if there is a strike. School officials are urging parents to come up with plans for getting kids to and from school.
