PAWLETT, Vt. (AP) - Authorities in Vermont and New York are still searching for a 23-year-old man last seen Jan. 18.

Jonathan Schaff was last seen in the early morning hours that day walking on Route 149 near the New York-Vermont state line. Police say he was in a fight at the Riverside Pub in Granville and ended up with a head injury and broken glasses.

State Police Sgt. Doug Norton tells the Burlington Free Press a recent search along the banks of the Mettawee River on the state line turned up no results. State police and a scuba team conducted the search, using a back hoe to dig through the river banks and the ice.

Norton has declined to comment on whether foul play is suspected.
