Bad news for those who take the bus in Burlington. Wednesday, union drivers for CCTA voted to reject the company's contract offer.
Sunday morning Chittenden County Transportation Authority officials announced that after a marathon negotiation session, they delivered a complete contract proposal to the union. The offer temporarily stopped CCTA drivers from striking Monday.
The union and its members now say they're declining the proposed contract and moving forward with the strike. The drivers will walk off the job Monday, March 17.
CCTA says it's disappointed the union decided to strike and claims its latest offer included generous pay increases and flexibility in work rules.
