An event at Burke Mountain Friday honors a Vermont Marine and raises money for a foundation in his name.

Corporal Ian Muller was a member of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He was killed in action three years ago this week in Helmand Province, Afghanstan. The 22-year-old was from North Danville. Prior to enlisting, Muller went to Lyndon State College. Now his school is helping celebrate his legacy.

The Ian Muller Rail Jam will be held Friday at Q-Burke Mountain Resort, and all proceeds go to the Ian Muller Memorial Scholarship. The event is part of the 2nd Annual Veterans Summit.

For more information about the 2nd annual Veterans Summit, or to register for the Ian Muller Rail Jam, visit: http://lyndonstate.edu/about/special-programs-events/veterans-summit/. Also, veterans and their families ski for free Friday at Burke. Just bring proof of your military service.
