EAST DORSET, Vt. (AP) - Vermont police say about $930 went missing from a donation box at the Wilson House in East Dorset.
According to its website, the Wilson House is the birthplace of the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous and was restored as a memorial to the co-founder and serves as a retreat for people recovering from substance abuse as well as a guest house.
Police say they responded to a report of theft on Thursday and an employee told them someone had stolen more than $900 from a donation box over the span of a month and a half. According to police, it was discovered that the thief had been removing the screws on the lock box and replacing them after slipping money out.
Police ask anyone with information to call the authorities.
