There's family fun all around Vermont today!

MAPLE FESTIVAL

The Cabot Maple Festival is going on from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There's a pancake breakfast and silent auction, as well as sugar on snow, maple treats, cheese sandwiches, and soups.

5k CHARITY RUN

Rutland's first annual Shiver Me Shamrocks 5k is at 1pm, hosted by Heritage Family Credit Union. All proceeds go to Wonderfeet Kids Museum, a non-profit, volunteer operated, hands on learning place for children.

VETERANS SUMMIT

Veterans Summit at Lyndon State College starts at 9am. The purpose of the summit is to bring veterans, their families, and veteran service organizations together to build relationships, stronger connections, and an enhanced regional support network.

STREAMS UPDATE

In Southern Vermont, an update on the damage from Tropical Storm Irene: Assessing our Streams will be presented at the American Museum of Fly Fishing at 1:00 p.m. Fish biologist, Ken Cox, will talk about all of the work that has been done to protect and rebuild the wildlife habitat.

MOLLY JAM

This Saturday at Smugglers Notch Resort the USASA Northern Vermont series is putting on the 2014 Molly Jam. Kids of all ages are raising money and competing in support of the Molly Rowley Fund. The proceeds go to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute / Children's Hospital Boston and assist families in need with numerous expenses that directly impact their lives. FULL MOON SNOWSHOE TOUR

Evening Snowshoe Adventures are professionally guided two-hour tours, designed for beginning to intermediate snowshoers at Bolton Valley. Price of this tour includes ticket, snowshoes and guided tour. Call (802) 434-6876 for more information and to reserve your spot. Tours are $35 per person.
