The Norwich University baseball team is back from its Florida trip, which gave us a chance to speak to assistant baseball coach Frank Pecora about his national honor. Pecora has been named to the 2014 class of the National High School Hall of Fame. He's the first Vermont coach to be inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame.
In his 38 years at the helm of the Northfield High School baseball program Pecora's teams won 15 state championships including five in a row from 1997 to 2001. Pecora also coached four state runner-up teams during that time.
Aside from coaching the baseball team Pecora served as the school's athletics director during his time at Northfield.
He was also President of the Vermont State Athletic Directors Association and served on the Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Board of Directors.
Pecora will be inducted into the NFHS Hall of Fame on July 2nd at the Boston Marriott Copley Place in Boston, Mass. along with five former athletes, four other coaches, one contest official, one administrator and one performance artist.
