Fundraiser inspired by Vt. avalanche victim in full swing

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Ian Lamphere died last April in Colorado.

He was an Underhill native, UVM grad and co-founder of the Stowe Mountain Film Festival. He left behind a wife and young daughter. Just three days before his death, Lamphere told his wife he wanted to start a nonprofit to benefit children of avalanche victims. After his death, she helped create the International Avalanche Nest-Egg Foundation.

We Set the Stage with Jeremy Harple and Victor Veve of The Aerolites. They grew up with Ian and are playing a benefit concert next month to benefit the International Avalanche Nest-Egg Foundation. Watch the video to see a sample of their song, "Laughing at the Truth."

Leigh Lamphere is the vice president of the International Avalanche Nest-Egg Foundation.
