18 arrested in North Country drug sweep

ESSEX COUNTY, N.Y. -

Police in Northern New York arrested more than a dozen people in a drug sweep Friday.

The roundup came as a result of ongoing narcotics investigations by law enforcement agencies in Essex County.

The sweep started at 6 a.m. In all, 18 people were arrested.

Multiple police agencies took part, including New York State Police, the Essex County Sheriff's Office, Ticonderoga Police, Lake Placid Police, Saranac Lake Police and Moriah Police.
