A century and a half ago, the Civil War was in its third bloody year. The conflict tore our nation apart, pitting Americans against one another. Vermonters did their part, and those soldiers would write letters home.
The University of Vermont has some of those letters in its care in the Special Collections section of the Bailey/Howe Library. Recently, Mike McCune visited with Jeff Marshall, the Unversity's Director of Research Collections, to examine this unique look into Vermonters' Civil War experience.
