Brown stumps in New Hampshire

Posted: Updated:

Former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown toured New Hampshire Saturday. He is considering a run for United States Senate in the Granite State.

We caught up with Brown at the Mt. Cube Sugar Farm in Orford. He and his wife got a tour of the facility from its owner, Peter Thomson. Thomson is the son of former New Hampshire Governor Meldrim Thomson. Brown, who is a Republican, has set up an exploratory committee to potentially challenge Senator Jeanne Shaheen for her seat. Shaheen and fellow Democrats have been highlighting Brown's out-of-state roots. But, Brown says that's not what voters care about.

"When I'm traveling around people aren't talking about where I live or where I'm living now," Brown said. "They're talking about Obamacare and how its crushing jobs and costing more and how you have people in Washington that are completely dysfunctional and they're not listening to the concerns of the average person that are concerned about how do you pay the bills."

At this point, Brown has not formally entered the race but Democrats are already going on the offensive.
In a recent interview, President Barack Obama says New Hampshire has a "great senator" in Jeanne Shaheen.
