After three months of non stop traveling and competing, including a stop in Sochi, Russia, two of Vermont's Olympic heroes have returned home. Barton's Susan Dunklee and Morrisville's Hannah Dreissigacker arrived at the Burlington Airport earlier Monday night. The biathletes received a great reception from friends and family.
Dunklee is coming off her first ever podium finish over the weekend. She placed third in the 7.5k sprint World Cup biathlon race Thursday in Norway. She's just the third American women to place in the top three and the first to do it since 1994. Combine that with her near podium performance at her first Olympics and Dunklee has done a world of good for her sport while making her community proud.
