We've got an interesting mix of ideas for "What to do" on this Saturday.

SUSTAINABLE LIVING EXPO

Vermont's first Sustainable Living Expo is happening from 9-4 at Middlebury Union High School in Middlebury. They're expecting about a 1,000 people. Some of the topics include: food and farming, energy conservation and health and wellbeing.  It's 2 dollars to get in for 12 and older.

POND SKIMMING

For just five bucks and a lift ticket or season pass, you can take a shot at pond skimming at Bolton Valley. Skimmers use skis or boards to attempt to skim the pond. Registration is from 10am - Noon at the Base Lodge and Skimming begins at 1pm. Winners need to have an outstanding costume and a solid skim.

MOLLY RINGWALD JAZZ PERFORMANCE

The Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center welcomes actress Molly Ringwald for a one-night-only jazz performance at 7:30 p.m. in Stowe.

LOCAL PLAYWRIGHTS SHOWCASE

Three local playwrights give the valley its due in this lighthearted, poignant look at life in small-town Vermont. You can see the homegrown production at 7:30 pm at Rochester School Auditorium. General admission is ten dollars and available at the door.

GARAGE SALE

Williston Central Schools Voyager House will be hosting a giant indoor garage sale in the Williston Central School Cafeteria from 9am – 3pm. All proceeds will support the Voyager Field Trip Fund.

SUGAR ON SNOW

From 11am-2pm at Jersey Girls Farm Cafe & Market there will be a Sugar on Snow Maple Madness with music from Chris Kleeman, maple syrup giveaway every hour, samples, cookout and much more.

UKRAINIAN EGG DECORATING

Artist Theresa Somerset is hosting a Ukrainian egg decorating demo from 12-2 p.m. at Frog Hollow Vermont State Craft Center, 85 Church Street, Burlington. It's free and open to the public.

GENERATOR OPEN HOUSE

The Generator, Burlington's newest maker space, is holding a Launch Party and Grand Opening from 4 - 8pm. The evening will include family friendly demos, food, and fun from 4 - 6pm, along with more demos, food, music, and a cash bar from 6 - 8pm. For more information, visit: generatorvt.com

WELLNESS FESTIVAL

There's a Zumbathon and wellness Festival from 9am – 12 p.m. at 60 Founders rd. Essex. Proceeds support student scholarships for the Edge Academy, Essex Middle School.

BRAZILIAN CAPOEIRA DEMO

Brazilian Capoeira is a form of martial arts but it is unique in that it is also a dance, music, singing and overall cultural event. On Saturday at the Billings building at UVM the Brazilian Capoeira group, called "Jagube Capoeira", will be having their first ceremony of "Batizado" which is when students earn their "corda" (the equivalent of a belt). These will potentially be the first Vermonters to earn their Capoeira corda ever. The Batizado is on Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. NANODAYS

ECHO, in partnership with the UVM Society of Physics Students, is a part of a nationwide festival of educational programs about nanoscale science and engineering. NanoDays celebrations bring university researchers together with science educators to create new and unique learning experiences for both children and adults to explore the miniscule world of atoms, molecules, and nanoscale forces. We'll be combining fun hands-on activities with presentations on current research. Free with admission. That goes from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

CHORAL PERFORMANCE

The Mill River High School honors choral ensembles are performing in their annual Bistro event at the Brandon Inn in Brandon. There are performances Saturday at 11:30 a.m., and 5:30 p.m. This event is the highlight of the school's choral music performances.

ARTISTS EXHIBITS

And this is your last chance to see a special exhibit in St. Johnsbury! Seven St. Johnsbury Academy fine arts teachers now have an exhibit together. The Seven Artists exhibit is up at Catamount Arts. It includes oil painting, pottery, photography and even clothing design. This is the last weekend to check out their work. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and it is free!
