BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A Burlington man charged in the brutal beating of his wife doesn't want his trial to be in the Queen City.

James Scarola faces an aggravated attempted murder charge for allegedly attacking his wife, Colleen, with a baseball bat back in September. The severity of the incident stunned investigators.

Colleen Scarola survived, but recently underwent another surgery and faces more rehab.

James Scarola asked the court to move his trial out of Chittenden County, claiming he could not get a fair trial because of the coverage of the case. But Judge Michael Kupersmith denied the request.
