NY man hospitalized following arrest

STOCKHOLM, N.Y. -

A New York man who told police heburied an elderly Stockholm couple in their backyard is in the hospital.

WWNY reports that Robert Bartlett ofStockholm was hospitalized Tuesday, complaining of chest pains after he wasbooked on welfare fraud charges.

Bartlett is accused of cashing in on apension belonging to Alvin Babcock, 84, after Babcock died.

State police say a fraud investigationled them to Babcock's property late last month. That's where they found hisremains and those of his wife, Betty, 82. The cause of their deaths is stillunder investigation.

WWNY reports Bartlett has deniedkilling the couple.
