Police are investigating the death of an infant in Winooski.
The Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations say Friday afternoon emergency responders were called to a home on Malletts Bay Avenue after a 15-month-old boy stopped breathing. The baby was taken to Fletcher Allen Health Care where he was pronounced dead.
Autopsy results are still pending. Det. Sgt. Michael Warren says the investigation is in its early stages and would not comment on how the baby died. Warren says CUSI treats every child death, where there's not a pre-existing condition, as suspicious.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Det. Peter Chapman at CUSI.
