Anti-bullying project leaves Vt. students uplifting notes

FAIR HAVEN, Vt. -

Fair Haven Union High School students got a surprise when they went to open their lockers Tuesday morning. Each of the 437 students got an uplifting note on a Post-it.

The project was organized by senior Shannon Mandigo, who, along with other students, started the school's anti-bullying club about six months ago.

Mandigo says it was her own experience being bullied that made her want to do the project.

"My freshman and sophomore year, I was bullied pretty severely and I had many bad experiences from it," she said.

Mandigo said if she had received one the Post-it messages during the time she was being bullied, it would have made her feel better knowing that someone cared.

She says they have more projects planned for the rest of the school year.
