BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Dakota Gardner, 23, is doing time for threatening President Obama, Gov. Peter Shumlin and their families.

On Wednesday, the Springfield man was in court facing charges for nearly killing an inmate at the Correctional Center in Springfield last year. Gardner denied the charges Monday. Police say he lured another inmate into a cell then attacked him, leaving the 19-year-old in critical condition. He has since recovered. Gardner is currently serving a 4-year sentence in federal prison in Pennsylvania for threats against the president.
