Former Albany firefighter pleads no contest to arson

Posted: Updated:

An arson at the Albany Fire Department was an inside job.

On Tuesday, former firefighter Elmer Joerg pleaded no contest to setting the blaze. Investigators say the former volunteer was caught on camera setting the fire inside the fire station last summer. Police said under questioning Joerg admitted he had urges to set fires. No sentencing date has been set.
