Hearing in Plattsburgh on rise of opiate addiction

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -

New York lawmakers are engaging the public in the fight against the rise of opiate addiction.

The state Senate has created a task force to hear from law enforcement, health care, social service and education experts around the state about how to combat heroin and prescription drug abuse and the related crime it spurs.

The task force is coming to the North Country Friday, April 25. Senator Betty Little will hold a hearing at the Clinton County Government Center from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It will be in the Clinton County Legislative Chamber on the 2nd Floor of the County Government Center at 137 Margaret Street in Plattsburgh.
